Trade Finance Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially minded Trade Finance Manager to lead and support structured trade finance transactions across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring, executing, and managing trade finance deals that support commodity flows, cross-border transactions, and client financing needs. This role requires strong market knowledge, product expertise, and a network of banking and corporate relationships across MEA markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Structure and execute trade finance solutions for clients and internal trading desks, including letters of credit (LCs), SBLCs, forfaiting, pre-export finance, receivables finance, and inventory financing.
Build and manage relationships with local, regional, and international banks, ECAs, and financial institutions to secure credit lines and optimize deal structures.
Work closely with trading, legal, operations, and risk teams to ensure smooth execution of trade flows and compliance with internal policies.
Assess and mitigate credit, counterparty, and sovereign risk across transactions in MEA markets.
Monitor active trade finance deals, manage collateral, and ensure timely settlement, drawdowns, and repayments.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade finance regulations, banking products, and local market practices across MEA countries.
Negotiate terms with banks and counterparties, including pricing, tenors, credit limits, and security structures.
Support business development initiatives by advising commercial teams on structuring finance for new clients or markets.
Prepare internal reports, deal documentation, and credit memos for management approval.
REQUIREMENTS
5–10 years of experience in trade finance, ideally within commodities, banking, or structured trade environments.
Proven track record in originating and executing trade finance transactions in the Middle East and Africa.
Strong understanding of UCP600, URDG758, ISBP, Incoterms, and global trade finance standards.
Solid network of regional and international banking relationships.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, International Trade, or a related field; additional certifications (CDCS, CITF) are a plus.
Familiarity with commodity finance, treasury operations, and credit risk analysis.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and documentation skills.
Fluency in English required; Arabic and/or French is a plus.
